The Ideal Setting

I have not found many locations that would be a suitable home for Celebration Education, let alone one that might be available. When a location is found, great efforts will be placed in obtaining it.

While I am open to all suggestions, here are the things I need for a place to be a "Celebration Education" location:

  • A physically and mentally safe environment
  • Warm, open and airy, giving the feeling that anything is possible
  • Beautiful, uncluttered, and clean, yet not stuffy
  • Large assembly room (multi-purpose)
  • Library/computer/quiet study room
  • Several small classrooms
  • Kitchen/break room
  • Outdoor play area with a field, shade trees, picnic benches, flower and vegetable gardens

In addition to the Celebration Education programs, the facility could also house:

  • Cultural events
  • Music/media/exercise room
  • School store
  • After school care
  • Tutoring
  • Community enrichment classes
  • Summer day camps
  • Homeschool resource center
  • Teen programs
  • Preschool program
  • Hall rental

Please join in sharing ideas for this great place!

OK, There's a place in Ladera Ranch that I was looking at last year, but was told that a mechanic was going to go in there. I saw it again this week and it's still sitting empty. I like it because it…Continue

Here is the last place I fell in love with for Celebration Education. Take a look: http://atac4kids.com/our_center.htm Unfortunately, the place was purchased by a mortuary. Back to the drawing…Continue

Go, Heather!  We have the same dream.  Our current location doesn't have an outdoor space and that's what Rachel misses about our old co-op.  But we think this is just a start and the conditions will be right for the perfect spot. :-)  Much luck in your endeavors!

I'm wondering if we could get a business sponsorship (thinking of ESRI in Redlands where I used to work and where dh works) or donation (of facility or $$).....I have no idea how something like that works or if you'd have to be a non-profit or even who to ask at ESRI.  I know they used to sponsor Montessori in Redlands.  I'll see if I can find out anything--though we are leaving on vacation soon and won't be back till mid-July.

Thanks, Cindy! You know, I think I should hang out with you more. I can see some real synergy with us & our programs. As a matter of fact, there's at least one family in your area wanting my classes around there, but no group formed. Might there be room at your place for a once a week two-hour class?

That's a great idea, Jonell! I wonder why they no longer sponsor the Montessori school (a great school BTW). I look forward to what you find out about ESRI. Thanks!

While it is way too small for a permanent facility, our little community center across the highway from our house might come in handy if you are looking for a place for some short-term classes in the Yucaipa area.  It has restrooms, a full kitchen, an outdoor area and nearby hiking trail/wilderness area.  It is one large room with a piano/stage at one end, also has tables/chairs if needed.  They're always looking for somebody to rent it in order to keep the fees paid.  lmk if you're ever interested!

Okay, I guess not the same dream, Heather.  Yours is pretty big.  I would just like an outdoor space and maybe a couple of classrooms.  We are outgrowing our little place.  Yes, we would love to get your program down here, but our schedule is filling up quickly.  I've heard of another place we could rent, so I will keep you posted!

Thanks Windi!

That sounds interesting, Becky! That might be a good place for Heather's Yoga and Enneagram classes. Can you get me contact information for them? Thanks!

Thanks cindy!

I just talked to Rick at High Tower Corp. in OC. They help churches and schools get into the right places. They also help with getting financing, sharing a building, & even building the right place, if necessary. He told me that in order for them to work with us we need to incorporate and be able to show 3-5 years of good financials.

We really don't have impressive financials at this point. I had mentioned that I would like to partner with other like-minded businesses to share space and clients & he suggested that I form a formal organization with those other businesses in order to have stronger financials.

Just some things to think about - and more work to do!

i am certainly interested in keeping our heads together on this- we are moving forward with the conversion of a single classroom behind our house, which allows for an outdoor area (and eventual gardens); but I, too, as you well know, have big dreams!!

OK, I just scheduled a time to go see the facility in Ladera Ranch. Any of you are welcome to come. It's going to be Friday, March 9th at 11am.
