S.T.E.A.M. World

Delving into Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics

based on the classic novel

Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne.

These are our Weekly Classes that meet once a week for two hours. Each class includes 8 fun, hands-on activities to help the children delve into the topic of the week. The 8 activities usually include a craft, journal activity to map the journey and location details from the chapter, vocabulary game with words taken from the chapter, math/logic, S.T.E.A.M., a collaboration project, a highlight activity and an active game.

We are really excited about our S.T.E.A.M. WORLD theme and how we will integrate innovation into our discoveries of the world!

I'm looking forward to the new school year. I can't wait to see how steam-punk is probably going to be integrated at some point.

Hi we are new to the STEAM classes. I would like to enroll my 2nd grader. We were planning on reading Around the world in 80 days this year anyway, so I am really glad I stumbled across this class. Can someone fill me in on what to expect from the classes?

Hi Fazila!

The weekly classes meet once a week for two hours. Each class includes 8 fun, hands-on activities to help the children delve into the topic of the week. The 8 activities usually include a craft, some math, a vocabulary game, some geography, some cultures, a science activity, and a physical activity. They're a lot of fun!

Sorry, I should have posted that I emailed you Fazila. We have been talking via email:)

Just wondering if you're familiar with the San Pedro campus?  We've been to the Long Beach campus and its perfect because of the play area for my little one.  However, the San Pedro location is closer... do you know if there is a play area on site?

Hi Mai, let me find out from Sarah for you. Windi

Is there any chance of getting a weekly class going in the Thousand Oaks area?

Comment by Karla Freeman on July 27, 2014 at 2:44pm

@Kim Huber - we are trying to get a class together in Chatsworth for Thursdays 11-1. Would that be close enough for you?

we just enrolled for the San Pedro location and are very excited!  thanks Windi and CE.

Hi Mai, There is no playground access in San Pedro. The church has a pre school that uses the playground during the day.
